So you’re interested in our world of sticky fingers, smiles and legendary childcare, at Cherubs Ladybrook? Let Nursery Manager, Karen tell you more about it…

Cherubs Day Nursery, Ladybrook is a purpose built nursery located in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. There are regular bus links into Mansfield, the surrounding areas and further afield and direct access to the A60. We’re proud to be a nursery at the heart of the community, sharing our nursery building with the Ladybrook Surestart centre.

When it comes to Ofsted I’m proud to say that we have been graded as a “Good” nursery. In our most recent Ofsted inspection, which took place on 29th March 2016, Ofsted Inspector, Sharon Alleary, praised the nursery stating that “the highly qualified staff demonstrate consistently good teaching and on occasions, outstanding teaching and that children are happy and settled at nursery.” If you would like to read more, please download the report here.

We have a very well-established team here at Cherubs Ladybrook. Many of my colleagues have been here for years and it’s great to see the same smiley faces everyday. It’s great for us and even better for the children as it means that they are able to build strong bonds with the childcare team, enhancing their time at nursery. All our childcare team are DBS checked and training towards accredited qualifications. We also train the entire team in Paediatric First Aid and Safe Guarding, the children’s safety and welfare is paramount and we know, first hand, that there can be no compromise on this.

Finally, a little more about me. I have been with Cherubs Nurseries since 2015. I found a passion for Childcare after having my own child, I started volunteering at a play group, which then lead to a part time job which then developed into a full time career, as my family grew. I then discovered that I really loved the nursery environment and decided to pursue a career in the industry. I currently have a BA in Early Years Childcare with Leadership and have qualified as an EYPS in addition to completing all the standard Cherubs Nurseries training which involves Paediatric First Aid and Safe Guarding.

There is so much more I would love to tell you about our nursery. However, nothing beats coming to view the nursery for yourself. With that being said, I would like to invite you to come for a show round at your leisure to see what makes us so special.”

Our baby suite is a unique environment tailor made to stimulate very young minds as they begin to explore the world. Designed based on the latest Baby Brain research the baby suits are the perfect environment for your child.

Toddler Suite

Our toddler suite invites our young inquisitive and enthusiastic children to join in with the carefully planned and organised exciting activities throughout the day, all within a purpose built environment. There is real focus on providing lots of physical adventures as well as opportunities for quiet time, creative time and role play. Our open door policy encourages parents to pop in at any time.

Pre- School

Our Pre-School is a large and open environment where children are free to make their own choices. There are numerous activity areas and resources are stored at child-level so that children can lead their own play.

Sensory Theatre

Heightening the senses of our children, our sensory area within our baby suite is an environment full of toys and objects which children love to see, hear and feel.

Purpose Built Environment

Our nursery benefits from being a purpose built environment that has been designed in consultation with children and parents.

Forest Schools

Our nursery provides the opportunity for our children to experience forestry style experiences right outside the door. These experiences provide children with the opportunity to discover the natural environment, play within it and share fun times with their friends hiding, building and exploring.

I.T. Facilities

The next Bill Gates? Our nursery features the latest IT facilities for children to play and learn on. From our tablet tables to computers, Children are able to use these facilities as an essential learning resource, helping to equip them for the technological world we live in.

Dedicated Chef

We know how important it is for children to eat a healthy balanced diet. This is why our nursery has a dedicated chef who develops nutritionally balanced meals for your child to enjoy and help them start good eating habits.

Blossom Educational Software

Blossom allows the childcare team to effectively track your child’s learning journey, electronically, via iPads. You can view this, at any time, and contribute via the parents smartphone app.

Food for thought

As for nursery food, our Chef, Tracy is absolutely fantastic. She’s got bags of experience and is always looking for ways to add her flair into the dishes she cooks up.

As for standards we expect a lot from ourselves and so can you. Our kitchen is regularly expected by the Food Standards Agency, where we have been praised for our high standards. Our seasonal nursery menus are also well-balanced, varied and are always created with the School Foods Standards in mind. We’re also proud to cater for children with special dietary needs including allergies, intolerances and cultural preferences.

What do parents say about
Cherubs Ladybrook

  • “All the staff and managers are so lovely, friendly and welcoming. The nursery is lovely, bright and clean. My son has really enjoyed coming and his speech has improved so much since starting here.”

Laura S Tuesday 20th June 2017, Cherubs Ladybrook
  • “My daughter has not been at nursery for long, she started in January 2017, she was very shy at the start but the staff were very, very friendly and she soon settled in and enjoys every minute of being there. She comes out of nursery singing all the songs that she has learnt and tells me all her friend's names and what she has been doing. She talks about the staff and she likes them all. I'm really happy with the nursery and would definitely recommend it to others.”

Rachel G Tuesday 28th March 2017, Cherubs Ladybrook
  • “The nursery and staff are always welcoming and they have made mine and my daughter's experience of nursery a great one. My daughter initially suffered from separation anxiety, however, the staff worked well with her and would always make a fuss when we arrived and would tell my daughter who was coming to the nursery and would sit with her on the table and provide breakfast and a drink. My daughter now loves going to nursery, she would often say “I have lots of friends and the ladies are nice to me”. Very welcoming environment from all staff and the manager.”

Louise L Monday 27th March 2017, Cherubs Ladybrook
  • “This is a fantastic nursery. My daughter loves coming here. She has progressed fantastically and you can see the difference in her and the staff are fantastic as well. We are going to be sending our other daughter here as well.”

Emily 1st June 2018, Cherubs Ladybrook
  • “My daughter thoroughly loves attending Cherubs Ladybrook. She has many friends here and loves to tell the staff all about her mornings at school. There is always a warm welcome, lots of variety of activities and her needs are being met.”

Clair 21st May 2018, Cherubs Ladybrook
  • “My son can never wait to get to the nursery. He has a fab bond with both staff and children that also attend. His speech and attitude has really come along. A few months ago, myself and the staff worked together to get my son out of nappies. It took us only a few days and was a massive achievement.”
