So you’re interested in Cherubs Pleasley? Let Nursery Manager, Nikki tell you more about it…
“Cherubs Pleasley is a purpose built nursery, just outside Mansfield town centre. Conveniently located at the Pleasley Landmark Centre there are regular bus links into Mansfield, Nottingham City Centre and further afield and direct access to the M1, which means it’s great for both local and commuting parents alike.
When it comes to Ofsted Cherubs Pleasley has been graded a “Good” nursery by Ofsted. In our most recent Ofsted inspection, which took place on 9th September 2016, Ofsted Inspector, Lianne McElvaney praised the nursery saying “staff have a good knowledge of how children learn. They use this to provide a wide range of exciting and stimulating activities that promotes children’s development well.” She then commended the management team saying that “they are passionate and committed to improving outcomes for the children.” If you would like to read more, please download the report here.
We have a very well-established team here at Cherubs Pleasley. Many of my colleagues have been here for years and it’s great to see the same smiley faces everyday. It’s great for us and even better for the children as it means that they are able to build strong bonds with the childcare team, enhancing their time at nursery. All our childcare team are DBS checked and training towards accredited qualifications. We also train the entire team in Paediatric First Aid and Safe Guarding, the children’s safety and welfare is paramount and we know, first hand, that there can be no compromise on this.
Finally, a little more about me. I have been part of Cherubs Nurseries since 2006. I started my career at Cherubs Mansfield Woodhouse as a Nursery Practitioner and have been lucky to work across a few Cherubs Nurseries, progressing to where I am today. I have always found teaching and developing children a very rewarding career. Knowing that I have supported and nurtured a child’s progression from their early start in life is a very comforting feeling. I am qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Level 4 in Management. In addition, I am also the SENDO and Language Lead for the nursery.
There is so much more I would love to tell you about our nursery. However, nothing beats coming to view the nursery for yourself. With that being said, I would like to invite you to come for a show round at your leisure to see what makes us so special.

Our baby suite is a unique environment tailor made to stimulate very young minds as they begin to explore the world. Designed based on the latest Baby Brain research the baby suits are the perfect environment for your child.
Our toddler suite invites our young inquisitive and enthusiastic children to join in with the carefully planned and organised exciting activities throughout the day, all within a purpose built environment. There is real focus on providing lots of physical adventures as well as opportunities for quiet time, creative time and role play. Our open door policy encourages parents to pop in at any time.
Our Pre-School is a large and open environment where children are free to make their own choices. There are numerous activity areas and resources are stored at child-level so that children can lead their own play.
Our nursery provides the opportunity for our children to experience forestry style experiences right outside the door. These experiences provide children with the opportunity to discover the natural environment, play within it and share fun times with their friends hiding, building and exploring.
The next Bill Gates? Our nursery features the latest IT facilities for children to play and learn on. From our tablet tables to computers, Children are able to use these facilities as an essential learning resource, helping to equip them for the technological world we live in.
We know how important it is for children to eat a healthy balanced diet. This is why our nursery has a dedicated chef who develops nutritionally balanced meals for your child to enjoy and help them start good eating habits.
Blossom Educational Software
Blossom allows the childcare team to effectively track your child’s learning journey, electronically, via iPads. You can view this, at any time, and contribute via the parents smartphone app.
Food for thought
Our seasonal menus are nutritionally balanced and varied, which allows the children to experience a wide variety of flavours and textures. As for standards we expect a lot from ourselves and so can you. Our kitchen is regularly expected by the Food Standards Agency, where we have been praised for our high standards. We’re also proud to cater for children with special dietary needs including allergies, intolerances and cultural preferences.
