So you’re interested in Cherubs Worksop? Let Nursery Manager, Laura tell you more about it…
Cherubs Worksop is a purpose built nursery on the school site of Sparken Hill Academy. There are regular bus and train links into Sheffield, Nottingham and further afield and direct access to the A1 and A60, which means it’s great for both local and commuting parents alike.
At Cherubs Nurseries we believe that no single learning experience is the best. That’s why we’ve developed our own approach to early years building on long-trusted teaching methods and the latest research from industry. We bring together four main schools of thought including Montessori, Hygge, Reggio and Forest School. These influence our nursery environments, structure of the nursery day and how our childcare team provide purposeful learning for the children.
All our Childcare Team are DBS checked and training towards or hold UK-accredited qualifications. We also train the entire team in Paediatric First Aid and Safeguarding – the children’s safety and welfare is paramount and we know first hand that there can be no compromise on this.
There is so much more I would love to tell you about our nursery. However, nothing beats coming to view the nursery for yourself. With that being said, I would like to invite you to come for a show round at your convenience to see what makes us so special.

Designed based on the latest research and following our approach to early years, our Baby Unit (referred to as Daisies or Buttercups) is a home from home environment. Thoughtfully curated to stimulate very young minds, our Baby Unit promotes awe and wonder as children begin to explore the world around them.
Our Toddler Unit (referred to as Snowdrops or Bluebells) invites our inquisitive and enthusiastic children to join in with the carefully planned and organised educator-led activities throughout the day. There is real focus on providing lots of physical adventures as well as opportunities for quiet time, creative time and role play - where children can guide their own play based on their interests.
Our Pre-School is a large and open environment where children are free to guide their own play and learning. Independence is promoted through displaying resources at an appropriate height, self-service at meal times and taking part in group time. In Pre-School, learning is more structured and children follow a daily routine to prepare them for School.
Whether it's burning off some energy, climbing around or listening to a story. Our outdoor space has been bespoke-created based on the latest research and is set up everyday with the children's latest interests in mind.
Following the principles of Forest School, weekly sessions are planned for the children either within the nursery environment or in the local community. These experiences provide children with the opportunity to discover the natural environment, play within it and make memories with their friends hiding, building and exploring.
We know how important it is for children to eat a healthy balanced diet. This is why our nursery has a dedicated chef who prepares nutritionally balanced meals for your child to enjoy and help them start good eating habits.
Delivered on a weekly basis by our qualified sports coach, all Pre-School children take part in a high energy and age-appropriate introduction to physical activity through a variety of sports including football, cricket and fencing.
Blossom Educational Software
Blossom allows the childcare team to effectively track your child’s nursery experience and learning journey electronically. You can view this on demand and contribute via the parents smartphone app.
We offer a breakfast club and after school club that drops off and picks up from local schools. Please contact us directly for more details.
Food for thought
A wholesome and balanced diet that introduces new foods is an important part of a child’s development. Our weekly menus are on a 3-week seasonal rotation and ensure children get their five portions of fruit and vegetables each day. Our food is varied and is served over starter, main and dessert courses – dependent on the day. We follow “Meat Free Monday” too in an effort to provide a healthier diet, save animals and the planet. Our kitchens are regularly inspected by the Food Standards Agency, where our well-trained Chefs have been praised for their high standards when it comes to the food we serve and the environment it is prepared in.
Our nurseries are proud to cater for children with dietary requirements including allergies, intolerances and cultural or lifestyle preferences.
