So you’re interested in our world of sticky fingers, smiles and legendary childcare, at Cherubs Kimberley? Let Nursery Manager, Craig tell your more about it…
“Cherubs Day Nursery, Kimberley is a large nursery in the centre of Kimberley situated next to Sainsbury’s. There are regular bus links into Nottingham City Centre and further afield and direct access to the M1, which means it’s great for both local and commuting parents alike.
When it comes to Ofsted I’m proud to say that we have maintained our “Outstanding” rating for some time now. In our most recent Ofsted inspection, which took place on 14th February 2017, Ofsted Inspector Tracy Hopkins praised the nursery stating that “the highly qualified team has vast experience in providing first-class teaching and learning for all children. Key persons are extremely knowledgeable about children in their groups”. If you would like to read more, please download the report here.
We have a very well-established team here at Cherubs Kimberley. Many of my colleagues have been here for years and it’s great to see the same smiley faces everyday. It’s great for us and even better for the children as it means that they are able to build strong bonds with the childcare team, enhancing their time at nursery. All our childcare team are DBS checked and training towards accredited qualifications. We also train the entire team in Paediatric First Aid and Safe Guarding, the children’s safety and welfare is paramount and we know, first hand, that there can be no compromise on this.
Finally, a little more about me. I have been part of Cherubs Nurseries since 2018. I hold a level 3 qualification in Early Years Workforce, a level 5 qualification in leadership and management, a HSE qualification in Health and Safety which enlists me to the British Safety Council and SENCO qualification. Last year I completed a train the trainer qualification which allows me to teach a recognised safeguarding and child proception qualification to my staff team. I have attended further training such as behavioural management, Every Childs a Talker (ECAT), Paediatric First Aid, Supporting Children with EAL, Fire Safety, Ofsted Readiness and Early Intervention and Interaction, to name a few. I am really passionate about providing quality childcare and I really hope this shows throughout the nursery.
There is so much more I would love to tell you about our nursery. However, nothing beats coming to view the nursery for yourself. With that being said, I would like to invite you to come for a show round at your leisure to see what makes us so special.

Our toddler suite invites our young inquisitive and enthusiastic children to join in with the carefully planned and organised exciting activities throughout the day, all within a purpose built environment. There is real focus on providing lots of physical adventures as well as opportunities for quiet time, creative time and role play. Our open door policy encourages parents to pop in at any time.
Our Pre-School is a large and open environment where children are free to make their own choices. There are numerous activity areas and resources are stored at child-level so that children can lead their own play.
Heightening the senses of our children, our sensory area within our baby suite is an environment full of toys and objects which children love to see, hear and feel.
Our children love the large garden complete with bespoke outdoor learning environments. The unique space has been created in consultation with our children and is based on the latest research.
Our nursery provides the opportunity for our children to experience forestry style experiences right outside the door. These experiences provide children with the opportunity to discover the natural environment, play within it and share fun times with their friends hiding, building and exploring.
The next Bill Gates? Our nursery features the latest IT facilities for children to play and learn on. From our tablet tables to computers, Children are able to use these facilities as an essential learning resource, helping to equip them for the technological world we live in.
We know how important it is for children to eat a healthy balanced diet. This is why our nursery has a dedicated chef who develops nutritionally balanced meals for your child to enjoy and help them start good eating habits.
Our Mini Kicks classes are hugely popular. The weekly sessions for children offers a high energy, age-appropriate introduction to physical activity through football.
Our Family Room is a warm and inviting area. The room is often used for informal meetings but can be used for breast feeding and to meet other family needs.
Blossom Educational Software
Blossom allows the childcare team to effectively track your child’s learning journey, electronically, via iPads. You can view this, at any time, and contribute via the parents smartphone app.
Step Ahead Kids’ Club
Our Step Ahead Kids’ Club runs milt-activity and action-packed clubs throughout the School holidays. From days out at Alton Towers to our famous Chocolate Parties, children come back year after year!
Food for thought
As for nursery food, our Nursery Chef, June makes a fabulous roast dinner. Seeing as the Kitchen is at the heart of the nursery, right as you walk in, you’ll always smell everything from freshly-baked scones to June’s Pie of the Day.
As for standards we expect a lot from ourselves and so can you. Our kitchen is regularly expected by the Food Standards Agency, where we have been praised for our high standards. Our seasonal nursery menus are also well-balanced, varied and are always created with the School Foods Standards in mind. We’re also proud to cater for children with special dietary needs including allergies, intolerances and cultural preferences.

What do parents say about
“I have my 2 daughters go to Cherubs Kimberley and I am very satisfied with how they look after my children. Very thorough, professional, thoughtful and kind. When I leave the twins with the lovely nursery assistants at Cherubs, I know they are very happy and settled especially when they are waving and saying goodbye to mummy. Their development is coming along beautifully with saying lots of words at home. Identifying shapes, colours and numbers up to 10. They have fantastic key workers as well. I couldn't wish for a better nursery and lovely ladies to look after my children. Highly recommend. Thank you so much.”
“An outstanding setting where out son is extremely happy. The staff are caring, knowledgeable and very friendly. We couldn't ask for more from them. Thanks for everything that you do for our little man!”
“Both my children have come to this nursery. Staff have been fantastic in terms of care, learning and accommodating needs. Both my children have grown in confidence and shown good attachment to their key worker. They have always been happy to come to nursery. We have worked with staff to develop areas of development based on their care plan and have found feedback useful and staff really keen to help us. Thank you Cherubs Kimberley.”
