So you’re interested in Cherubs Longdale? Let Nursery Manager, Hannah tell you more about it…
“Cherubs Day Nursery, Longdale Lane is a large nursery located in Ravenshead, Nottinghamshire. There are regular bus links into Mansfield, the surrounding areas and further afield and direct access to the A614 and A60, which means it’s great for both local and commuting parents alike.
When it comes to Ofsted I’m proud to say that we have been graded “Good” as a nursery. In our most recent Ofsted inspection, which took place on 13th June 2018, Ofsted Inspector, Justine Ellaway praised the nursery stating that “the whole environment is very attractive and inviting. Staff organise activities well so that they are very appealing to children. Children demonstrate enthusiasm for learning”. She then went on to say that “there are lots of opportunities for children to enjoy and experience sensory play and frequent opportunities for children to access the outdoor area. Staff regularly observe children’s learning and make appropriate assessments of their stage of development. There is a well-established monitoring system in place to quickly identify where children have any gaps in their learning”. If you would like to read more, please download the report here.
We have a very well-established team here at Cherubs Longdale. Many of my colleagues have been here for years and it’s great to see the same smiley faces everyday. It’s great for us and even better for the children as it means that they are able to build strong bonds with the childcare team, enhancing their time at nursery. All our childcare team are DBS checked and training towards accredited qualifications. We also train the entire team in Paediatric First Aid and Safe Guarding, the children’s safety and welfare is paramount and we know, first hand, that there can be no compromise on this.
Finally, a little more about me. I have been part of Cherubs Nurseries since 2008. Initially I stumbled across childcare and instantly fell in love with it. Over eight years on, I’m still here. I hold a Level 3 qualification in Childcare as well as Level 3 and 4 in Management. I’m also a designated SENDCO and Safeguarding Officer.
There is so much more I would love to tell you about our nursery. However, nothing beats coming to view the nursery for yourself. With that being said, I would like to invite you to come for a show round at your leisure to see what makes us so special.”

Food for thought
As for nursery food, our Nursery Chef, Chris is great. You’ll always hear Chris telling his jokes and cooking up a storm in the Kitchen. From his legendary roast dinners to his “to die for” malteser cheesecake.
As for standards we expect a lot from ourselves and so can you. Our kitchen is regularly expected by the Food Standards Agency, where we have been praised for our high standards. Our seasonal nursery menus are also well-balanced, varied and are always created with the School Foods Standards in mind. We’re also proud to cater for children with special dietary needs including allergies, intolerances and cultural preferences.

What do parents say about
Cherubs Longdale has been so brilliant in everything. They support and care for not only my daughter but myself as well as working together to make my daughters development and time fantastic. The the staff are so friendly and welcoming too.
My son has learnt so much since joining Cherubs Longdale and has grown in confidence. His social skills have been enhanced tremendously and he continues to develop every week. I think the nursery is a great way for children to progress in all areas, in readiness for their future journey. Cherubs have definitely assisted with this.
Cherubs Longdale has been brilliant. Staff, all staff, whether directly involved in my daughters care or not are brilliant, always friendly, always show interest in the children around them. My child has come on a lot since attending and that's only one visit a week. I am very glad I chose Cherubs Longdale. The Blossom app that is used is also really informative, keeps me up to date with specific details of her day e.g., naps or food eaten - and the staff add on photos of my child's day and development so I feel really involved and aware of her time here.
