So you’re interested in our world of sticky fingers, smiles and legendary childcare, at Cherubs Longdale? Let Nursery Manager, Hannah tell you more about it…
“Cherubs Day Nursery, Longdale Lane is a large nursery located in Ravenshead, Nottinghamshire. There are regular bus links into Mansfield, the surrounding areas and further afield and direct access to the A614 and A60, which means it’s great for both local and commuting parents alike.
When it comes to Ofsted I’m proud to say that we have been graded “Good” as a nursery. In our most recent Ofsted inspection, which took place on 13th June 2018, Ofsted Inspector, Justine Ellaway praised the nursery stating that “the whole environment is very attractive and inviting. Staff organise activities well so that they are very appealing to children. Children demonstrate enthusiasm for learning”. She then went on to say that “there are lots of opportunities for children to enjoy and experience sensory play and frequent opportunities for children to access the outdoor area. Staff regularly observe children’s learning and make appropriate assessments of their stage of development. There is a well-established monitoring system in place to quickly identify where children have any gaps in their learning”. If you would like to read more, please download the report here.
We have a very well-established team here at Cherubs Longdale. Many of my colleagues have been here for years and it’s great to see the same smiley faces everyday. It’s great for us and even better for the children as it means that they are able to build strong bonds with the childcare team, enhancing their time at nursery. All our childcare team are DBS checked and training towards accredited qualifications. We also train the entire team in Paediatric First Aid and Safe Guarding, the children’s safety and welfare is paramount and we know, first hand, that there can be no compromise on this.
Finally, a little more about me. I have been part of Cherubs Nurseries since 2008. Initially I stumbled across childcare and instantly fell in love with it. Over eight years on, I’m still here. I hold a Level 3 qualification in Childcare as well as Level 3 and 4 in Management. I’m also a designated SENDCO and Safeguarding Officer.
There is so much more I would love to tell you about our nursery. However, nothing beats coming to view the nursery for yourself. With that being said, I would like to invite you to come for a show round at your leisure to see what makes us so special.”

What do parents say about
“Fantastic nursery. Professional, friendly and caring staff who take a genuine interest in our son. Would recommend to friends and family. Brilliant!”
“I could not recommend this nursery highly enough. The staff are all fantastic, so friendly and genuinely care about my child and know her individual personality. The activities at the setting are wide ranging, including additional sessions offered e.g. Mini kicks and encourage development. The outside space is great and I love that my child gets fresh air and exercise whenever possible. The nursery manager is fantastic - she knows all the children and parents, is very approachable and the communication is great, particularly through the Facebook page. There is a good variety of food offered and my child always eats very well at nursery. My daughter is extremely happy here - thank you for looking after her so well.”
“After viewing two nurseries previously - and still feeling unsure, I went to visit Longdale for my son. I immediately loved the location and felt a sense of homeliness as I entered. Staff were very friendly, approachable and professional. The nursery was large, with a vast outdoor area, clean, and staff appeared organised and knowledgeable. After having all the information and being shown around - I felt like I had finally found a nursery that was suitable and made me feel at ease with the thought of leaving my boy in their care. Plus, on the way out, they even offered to change his nappy as he had filled it. Overall felt above and beyond expectation. My son loves it and at 14 months old, already is making progress in learning.”
“My son recently started at Cherubs Longdale and has settled really well. It was a tough decision to go back to work early, however, the staff made me feel at ease leaving him in their care. They keep me well informed of his day through an app on my phone showing photos and activities.”
“We were extremely anxious to swap nurseries and breakfast/after school club for our two boys. One of our children has multiple allergies, Longdale was more than happy to help/ accommodate this. We cannot speak highly enough about the staff and their support.”
“I would certainly recommend this nursery. Returning back to work and putting my little boy into the nursery is a big worry of mine but Cherubs have reassured me. My son has settled and is looked after better than I initially expected. Over the moon!”
