So you’re interested in Cherubs Edwinstowe? Let Nursery Manager, Sarah tell your more about it…
“Cherubs Day Nursery, Edwinstowe is a large rural nursery situated on Mansfield Road in Edwinstowe. There are regular bus links into Mansfield and Nottingham City Centre and further afield and direct access to the A614 and M1, which means it’s great for both local and commuting parents alike.
We are one of Cherubs Nurseries “curiosity approach” run nurseries. The “curiosity approach” is a modern day approach to early childhood and childcare. It takes parts from Reggio, Steiner, Te Whariki and Montessori and is based around authentic resources, mindfulness and the engagement of all the senses. It’s about letting children be curious, take the lead in their learning and to use their imagination to learn about the world around them. This style of childcare has proved incredibly successful and it something that many of our parents have chosen us for.
When it comes to Ofsted I’m proud to say that we achieved an Ofsted “Good” rating in our most recent inspection. Commenting on the inspection, which took place on 24th October 2017, Ofsted Inspector Teresa Lester praised the nursery stating that “The learning environments, both indoors and outdoors, are well organised. There is a wide range of high-quality resources that children access independently and are suited to their interests.” and “All children make good progress in their learning and development, including those receiving additional funding. They are learning to become independent and take care of their own self-care needs.”
We have a very well-established team here at Cherubs Edwinstowe. Many of my colleagues have been here for years and it’s great to see the same smiley faces everyday. It’s great for us and even better for the children as it means that they are able to build strong bonds with the childcare team, enhancing their time at nursery. All our childcare team are DBS checked and training towards accredited qualifications. We also train the entire team in Paediatric First Aid and Safe Guarding, the children’s safety and welfare is paramount and we know, first hand, that there can be no compromise on this.
Finally, a little more about me. I am a Mum to three wonderful children, two of which attended the nursery from 6-weeks old. I have been part of Cherubs Nurseries since it acquired Bright Beginnings Day Nursery in 2019, before that I started my Bright Beginnings journey in 1999 before being promoted to Nursery Manager in 2009. I have a BA (Hons) in Educational Studies and Level 5 in Nursery Management in addition to Paediatric First Aid. There is so much more I would love to tell you about our nursery. However, nothing beats coming to view the nursery for yourself. With that being said, I would like to invite you to come for a show round at your leisure to see what makes us so special.”

We know how important it is for children to eat a healthy balanced diet. This is why our nursery has a dedicated chef who develops nutritionally balanced meals for your child to enjoy and help them start good eating habits.
Blossom Educational Software
Blossom allows the childcare team to effectively track your child’s learning journey, electronically, via iPads. You can view this, at any time, and contribute via the parents smartphone app.
Food for thought
Our seasonal menus are nutritionally balanced and varied, which allows the children to experience a wide variety of flavours and textures. What do parents say about
My daughter started at Cherubs Edwinstowe before Christmas. She has settled so well and they really push her development. Very flexible to suit my changing shifts working in the NHS. Highly recommend.
My daughter has been at the nursery since 9 months old. I am an older first-time mum and they worked with me to build my confidence in leaving my child, and trust in the staff at looking after her. After being there for 6 months, the staff are a part of her life. She gets excited when we arrive and the staff are always welcoming.
The staff are so friendly and you are always greeted with a smile. It's a very relaxed and calm place and the children appear quite at home.I love the variety of food that the staff provide. I wish I was a child again. The nursery is always cleaned daily and the smell of fresh laundry is lovely.
