So you’re interested in our world of sticky fingers, smiles and legendary childcare, at Cherubs South Normanton? Let Nursery Manager, Nikki tell you more about it…
“Cherubs Day Nursery, South Normanton is situated in the heart of South Normanton. Previously Busy Bee Day Nursery, Cherubs Nurseries acquired the nursery in 2013 and have recently rebranded, bringing lots of new and exciting opportunities with this. Getting to the nursery there are regular bus links into Derbyshire, the surrounding areas and further afield and direct access to the M1, which means it’s great for both local and commuting parents alike.
When it comes to Ofsted we have maintained our “Good” rating for sometime now. In our most recent Ofsted inspection, which took place on 31st March 2014, Ofsted Inspector, Ruth Moore praised the nursery stating that “teaching is good and in some cases outstanding. Staff have a good understanding of how to effectively promote children’s learning. As a result, children are making good progress in their learning and development.” If you would like to read more, please download the report here.
We have a very well-established team here at Cherubs South Normanton. Many of my colleagues have been here for years and it’s great to see the same smiley faces everyday. It’s great for us and even better for the children as it means that they are able to build strong bonds with the childcare team, enhancing their time at nursery. All our childcare team are DBS checked and training towards accredited qualifications. We also train the entire team in Paediatric First Aid and Safe Guarding, the children’s safety and welfare is paramount and we know, first hand, that there can be no compromise on this.
Finally, a little more about me. I have been working with Cherubs Nurseries since 2015, as a Nursery Manager. I have always been very interested in childcare and their development, which lead me to the role I am in today. I feel I have a natural ability to connect with children, on all levels, and build positive relationships with them. I currently hold an NNEB in addition to the standard Cherubs Nurseries training which involves Paediatric First Aid and Safeguarding.
There is so much more I would love to tell you about our nursery. However, nothing beats coming to view the nursery for yourself. With that being said, I would like to invite you to come for a show round at your leisure to see what makes us so special.”
