So you’re interested in our world of sticky fingers, smiles and legendary childcare, at Cherubs Sutton-in-Ashfield? Let Nursery Manager, Liam tell your more about it…
“Cherubs Day Nursery, Sutton is a large nursery in the centre of Sutton in Ashfield situated on Douglas Road. There are regular bus links into Mansfield city centre and further afield and direct access to the M1, which means it’s great for both local and commuting parents alike.
When it comes to Ofsted I’m proud to say that the nursery achieved Ofsted “Outstanding” rating in their most recent inspection. Commenting on the inspection, which took place on 26th August 2015, Ofsted Inspector Tracy Hopkins praised the nursery stating that “highly effective teaching by well-qualified, skilled and dedicated staff ensures that all children make outstanding progress in their learning and development” and “staff provide children with innovative and editing experiences which inspire their enjoyment, fun, learning and development”. We have a very well-established team here at Cherubs Sutton. Many of my colleagues have been here for years and it’s great to see the same smiley faces everyday. It’s great for us and even better for the children as it means that they are able to build strong bonds with the childcare team, enhancing their time at nursery. All our childcare team are DBS checked and training towards accredited qualifications. We also train the entire team in Paediatric First Aid and Safe Guarding, the children’s safety and welfare is paramount and we know, first hand, that there can be no compromise on this.
Finally, a little more about me. I have been part of Cherubs Nurseries since 2014. I first got into childcare as I wanted to become a Primary School Teacher, however after working in Childcare I ended up never leaving. I’ve worked and trained across the group, so have developed a good understanding of the company operations and standards, which help us ensure we provide outstanding childcare. I’ve worked at 2 of Cherubs Nurseries Ofsted “Outstanding” nurseries and I’m now excited to be flying the Cherubs flag at our newest addition, Cherubs Sutton-in-Ashfield. I am currently working towards my Level 5 in Management and have completed all the standard Cherubs Nurseries training which involves Paediatric First Aid and Safe Guarding.
There is so much more I would love to tell you about our nursery. However, nothing beats coming to view the nursery for yourself. With that being said, I would like to invite you to come for a show round at your leisure to see what makes us so special.

Our baby suite is a unique environment tailor made to stimulate very young minds as they begin to explore the world. Designed based on the latest Baby Brain research the baby suits are the perfect environment for your child.
Our Pre-School is a large and open environment where children are free to make their own choices. There are numerous activity areas and resources are stored at child-level so that children can lead their own play.
Our children love the large garden complete with bespoke outdoor learning environments. The unique space has been created in consultation with our children and is based on the latest research.
Our nursery provides the opportunity for our children to experience forestry style experiences right outside the door. These experiences provide children with the opportunity to discover the natural environment, play within it and share fun times with their friends hiding, building and exploring.
The next Bill Gates? Our nursery features the latest IT facilities for children to play and learn on. From our tablet tables to computers, Children are able to use these facilities as an essential learning resource, helping to equip them for the technological world we live in.
We know how important it is for children to eat a healthy balanced diet. This is why our nursery has a dedicated chef who develops nutritionally balanced meals for your child to enjoy and help them start good eating habits.
Blossom Educational Software
Blossom allows the childcare team to effectively track your child’s learning journey, electronically, via iPads. You can view this, at any time, and contribute via the parents smartphone app.
Step Ahead Kids’ Club
Our Step Ahead Kids’ Club runs multi-activity and action-packed clubs throughout the School holidays. From days out at Alton Towers to our famous Chocolate Parties, children come back year after year!
Food for thought
As for nursery food, our Nursery Chef Mel makes a mean roast dinner. Seeing as the Kitchen is at the heart of the nursery you’ll always smell everything from fresh scones to Mel’s legendary pizza.
As for standards we expect a lot from ourselves and so can you. Our kitchen is regularly expected by the Food Standards Agency, where we have been praised for our high standards. Our seasonal nursery menus are also well-balanced, varied and are always created with the School Foods Standards in mind. We’re also proud to cater for children with special dietary needs including allergies, intolerances and cultural preferences.
