So you’re interested in Cherubs Wynndale? Let Nursery Manager, Heather tell you more about it…
“Cherubs Day Nursery, Wynndale is a purpose built nursery, just outside Mansfield town centre. There are regular bus links into Mansfield, Nottingham City Centre and further afield in addition to direct access to the A60, which means it’s great for both local and commuting parents alike.
When it comes to Ofsted I’m proud to say that we have maintained our “Good” rating for some time now. In our most recent Ofsted inspection, which took place on 22nd August 2016, Ofsted Inspector, Dawn Larkin, stated that “communication and language teaching are a strength of the nursery and that Cherubs Wynndale is led and managed effectively, saying that the management team is ambitious and committed to providing a high-quality service.” If you would like to read more, please download the report here.
We have a very well-established team here at Cherubs Wynndale. Many of my colleagues have been here for years and it’s great to see the same smiley faces everyday. It’s great for us and even better for the children as it means that they are able to build strong bonds with the childcare team, enhancing their time at nursery. All our childcare team are DBS checked and training towards accredited qualifications. We also train the entire team in Paediatric First Aid and Safe Guarding, the children’s safety and welfare is paramount and we know, first hand, that there can be no compromise on this.
Finally, a little more about me. I have been part of Cherubs Nurseries since 2013. From a young age I was keen to pursue a career in childcare as I always wanted to make a difference to the children I care for and support them to be the best that they can be in order for them to reach their full potential. My experience and qualifications to date include my Foundation Degree in Early Years. In 2018 I was promoted to a Senior Manager – this is really exciting role and means that I am responsible for assisting the other managers in the Cherubs Nurseries group with the running of their own settings. As I am out of the nursery a couple of days a week I am glad to be supported by my experienced Duty Manager, Becky.
There is so much more I would love to tell you about our nursery. However, nothing beats coming to view the nursery for yourself. With that being said, I would like to invite you to come for a show round at your leisure to see what makes us so special.”

Our toddler suite invites our young inquisitive and enthusiastic children to join in with the carefully planned and organised exciting activities throughout the day, all within a purpose built environment. There is real focus on providing lots of physical adventures as well as opportunities for quiet time, creative time and role play. Our open door policy encourages parents to pop in at any time.
Our Pre-School is a large and open environment where children are free to make their own choices. There are numerous activity areas and resources are stored at child-level so that children can lead their own play.
Our children love the large garden complete with bespoke outdoor learning environments. The unique space has been created in consultation with our children and is based on the latest research.
Our nursery provides the opportunity for our children to experience forestry style experiences right outside the door. These experiences provide children with the opportunity to discover the natural environment, play within it and share fun times with their friends hiding, building and exploring.
The next Bill Gates? Our nursery features the latest IT facilities for children to play and learn on. From our tablet tables to computers, Children are able to use these facilities as an essential learning resource, helping to equip them for the technological world we live in.
We know how important it is for children to eat a healthy balanced diet. This is why our nursery has a dedicated chef who develops nutritionally balanced meals for your child to enjoy and help them start good eating habits.
Children have the opportunity to take part in our language classes to help them develop a love of language from an early age and help them get ahead in school.
Our football coaching is hugely popular. Provided by local professionals, the weekly sessions for children offer a high energy, age-appropriate introduction to physical activity through football.
Blossom Educational Software
Blossom allows the childcare team to effectively track your child’s learning journey, electronically, via iPads. You can view this, at any time, and contribute via the parents smartphone app.
Drama is a great way for the children to express themselves and improve their confidence and teamwork skills. The weekly sessions offer a variety of drama and role play activities run by industry professionals, for all children to get involved in.
Food for thought
As for nursery food, I think we’ve got it down, our Nursery Chef Kim loves what she does and that really shows in the food that comes out the kitchen every day. There’s nothing like walking through nursery and smelling the freshly baked scones or one of her legendary pies cooking in the oven.
As for standards we expect a lot from ourselves and so can you. Our kitchen is regularly expected by the Food Standards Agency, where we have been praised for our high standards. Our seasonal nursery menus are also well-balanced, varied and are always created with the School Foods Standards in mind. We’re also proud to cater for children with special dietary needs including allergies, intolerances and cultural preferences.

What do parents say about
The staff at Cherubs Wynndale are very caring and informative. I always look forward to seeing how my son has progressed after each day he spends at nursery. Cherubs Wynndale are also very flexible with any extra sessions we wish to book too.
My son was so shy and lacked confidence. Since being at Cherubs Wynndale my son's confidence has grown and his speech has really come along. He's grown in confidence and has made many new friends. We really cannot thank the staff enough.
My son has been attending this nursery since he was 5 months old. The staff are really wonderful and so good with children. They are always friendly, happy and so much fun for the children. They are attentive to their needs and develop strong bonds with the children, which is important to reassure parents. I think it's probably the best nursery in the area.
