So you’re in Cherubs Ruddington? Let Nursery Manager, Lisa tell you more about it…
Cherubs Ruddington is a small rural nursery situated on Loughborough Road in Nottingham. There are regular bus links into Nottingham and further afield with direct access to the A60 and A46, which is great for both local and commuting parents alike.
We are one of Cherubs Nurseries “all-natural” nurseries. This approach to childcare means that our nursery is a little different to some you may have seen. Our environment is neutrally decorated and much of our furniture and resources have been up-cycled, recycled or handmade. This approach is not only eco-friendly but it encourages the children to explore, use their imagination and be curious. This approach to the early year’s has proved incredibly successful and it something that many of our parents have chosen us for.
When it comes to Ofsted I’m proud to say that we achieved an Ofsted “Good” rating in our most recent inspection. Commenting on the inspection, which took place on 12th December 2017, Ofsted Inspector Judith Rayner praised the nursery stating that ” Children are motivated in their play and are confident. Babies show curiosity and interest in their environment and happily explore the toys. Pre-school children have good independence skills and manage their own personal care routines very well.” and “Children’s social skills are good. From a young age, they learn how to share toys, take turns and be kind to one another. Children’s health is promoted well. They spend plenty of time outdoors in the fresh air and are provided with healthy meals and snacks.”
We have a very well-established team here at Cherubs Ruddington. Many of my colleagues have been here for years and it’s great to see the same smiley faces every day. It’s great for us and even better for the children as it means that they are able to build strong bonds with the childcare team, enhancing their time at nursery. All our childcare team are DBS checked and training towards accredited qualifications. We also train the entire team in Paediatric First Aid and Safe Guarding, the children’s safety and welfare is paramount and we know, first hand, that there can be no compromise on this.
Finally, a little more about me. I have always had a passion for working with children from a young age and I gained a lot of work experience throughout my school and college years. I was a nanny throughout the summer holidays plus I worked for a Lord and Lady related to the lady in waiting to the Queen for several years. My family have always run their own business, so I gained a lot of valuable experience in Management with them over the years and have always enjoyed supporting a team and working on organizing the team building events. I have a degree BA in Education and Training & a HND in Early Childhood Studies. I am also enjoying training to be a yoga instructor for toddlers as well as a trainer in baby massage for parents.”
There is so much more I could say about Cherubs Ruddington but nothing beats coming to view the nursery for yourself. With that being said, I would like to invite you to come for a show round at your leisure to see what makes us so special.
