So you’re in Cherubs Ruddington? Let Nursery Manager, Steph tell you more about it…
“Cherubs Day Nursery, Ruddington is a large rural nursery situated on Loughborough Road in Nottingham. There are regular bus links into Nottingham and further afield with direct access to the A60 and A46, which is great for both local and commuting parents alike.
We are one of Cherubs Nurseries “curiosity approach” run nurseries. The “curiosity approach” is a modern day approach to early childhood and childcare. It takes parts from Reggio, Steiner, Te Whariki and Montessori and is based around authentic resources, mindfulness and the engagement of all the senses. It’s about letting children be curious, take the lead in their learning and to use their imagination to learn about the world around them. This style of childcare has proved incredibly successful and it something that many of our parents have chosen us for.
When it comes to Ofsted I’m proud to say that we achieved an Ofsted “Good” rating in our most recent inspection. Commenting on the inspection, which took place on 12th December 2017, Ofsted Inspector Judith Rayner praised the nursery stating that ” Children are motivated in their play and are confident. Babies show curiosity and interest in their environment and happily explore the toys. Pre-school children have good independence skills and manage their own personal care routines very well.” and “Children’s social skills are good. From a young age, they learn how to share toys, take turns and be kind to one another. Children’s health is promoted well. They spend plenty of time outdoors in the fresh air and are provided with healthy meals and snacks.”
We have a very well-established team here at Cherubs Ruddington. Many of my colleagues have been here for years and it’s great to see the same smiley faces every day. It’s great for us and even better for the children as it means that they are able to build strong bonds with the childcare team, enhancing their time at nursery. All our childcare team are DBS checked and training towards accredited qualifications. We also train the entire team in Paediatric First Aid and Safe Guarding, the children’s safety and welfare is paramount and we know, first hand, that there can be no compromise on this.
Finally, a little more about me. I have been part of Cherubs Nurseries since 2019 after relocating to Nottingham from Oxford. I have a Level 5 in Early Year’s Education, with English and have built on this knowledge by undertaking a range of relevant qualifications and courses. I have worked in childcare since 2012, where I started as a Room Leader. Since then I have worked my way up, across two nurseries before moving to Cherubs Nurseries as part of the Nursery Management Team.
There is so much more I could say about Cherubs Ruddington but nothing beats coming to view the nursery for yourself. With that being said, I would like to invite you to come for a show round at your leisure to see what makes us so special.”

We know how important it is for children to eat a healthy balanced diet. This is why our nursery has a dedicated chef who develops nutritionally balanced meals for your child to enjoy and help them start good eating habits.
Blossom Educational Software
Blossom allows the childcare team to effectively track your child’s learning journey, electronically, via iPads. You can view this, at any time, and contribute via the parents smartphone app.
