If you’re looking for a Nottingham nursery to enrol your child in, see if Cherubs Ruddington can help.
Located in Ruddington, our rural Nottingham nursery is perfect for local and commuting parents. Regular bus links into Nottingham and further afield and direct access to the A60 and A46 make this Nottingham nursery easy for all parents to access.
We have developed a unique learning approach at Cherubs to help maximise early years learning and development. We have taken some key elements from trusted methods, and the latest research from the childcare industry, including four main schools of thought, including
- Montessori
- Hygge
- Reggio
- Forest School
These influence our nursery environments, the structure of our Nottingham nursery and how our childcare team provide purposeful learning for the children.
We understand that there can be no compromise on the children’s safety, which is why our Childcare team are DBS checked and are either training towards or holding UK-accredited qualifications. Everyone at all of our nurseries is also trained in Paediatric First Aid and Safeguarding.
We could tell you so much more about our Nottingham nursery, but nothing is better than coming to see it for yourself, book a tour here and see how special our nurseries are!

Sports Coaching
Delivered on a weekly basis by our qualified sports coach, all Pre-School children take part in a high energy and age-appropriate introduction to physical activity through a variety of sports including football, cricket and fencing.
X
Nursery App
Our Nursery App (provided by Nursery in a Box) enhances the nursery experience for both you and your child. Along with being able to sign your child in and out of nursery and pay your fees, it allows our Early Years Educators to effectively track your child’s nursery experience and learning journey. You can view this on demand and see live updates - making your own contributions via the parent's smartphone app.
X
Parent Parking
We have convenient on-site parking, with dedicated parent spaces for when you drop off/pick up your children. This is used at the parent’s own risk and we cannot accept responsibility or liability for any damage or loss to vehicles or property.
X
Baby Sensory Classes
Hosted every Friday, in partnership with LullaBaby, babies take part in specially designed and selected activities to develop and grow in an age-appropriate and engaging way. These are also a great opportunity for new or existing parents to get involved with their child's time with us.
X
Baby Unit
Designed based on the latest research and following our approach to early years, our Baby Unit (referred to as Daisies or Buttercups) is a home from home environment. Thoughtfully curated to stimulate very young minds, our Baby Unit promotes awe and wonder as children begin to explore the world around them.
X
Toddler Unit
Our Toddler Unit (referred to as Snowdrops or Bluebells) invites our inquisitive and enthusiastic children to join in with the carefully planned and organised educator-led activities throughout the day. There is real focus on providing lots of physical adventures as well as opportunities for quiet time, creative time and role play - where children can guide their own play based on their interests.
X
Pre-School
Our Pre-School is a large and open environment where children are free to guide their own play and learning. Independence is promoted through displaying resources at an appropriate height, self-service at meal times and taking part in group time. In Pre-School, learning is more structured and children follow a daily routine to prepare them for School.
X
Garden
Whether it's burning off some energy, climbing around or listening to a story. Our outdoor space has been bespoke-created based on the latest research and is set up everyday with the children's latest interests in mind.
X
Explorers
Following the principles of Forest School, weekly sessions are planned for the children either within the nursery environment or in the local community. These experiences provide children with the opportunity to discover the natural environment, play within it and make memories with their friends hiding, building and exploring.

From plate to feeling great
We think of food as more than fuel and are passionate about giving all children the best introduction to eating, by serving great tasting food. Our nurseries follow a 3-week seasonal menu rotation that is packed full of new dishes, child-favourites and those all important fruit and vegetables. We see meal times as learning and social opportunities, so serve our food over starter, main and dessert courses and encourage social eating through self-service and selection.
Here’s more about our nursery food:
- Each of our nurseries has their own qualified and experienced Nursery Chef.
- All our snacks and meals are prepared fresh, on-site everyday.
- Children have access to tap and infused water in addition to fresh milk, every day.
- Our nurseries work hard to maintain their “5” for food safety standards from our Local Authority and Environmental Health Practitioners.
- Our nurseries follow Meat Free Monday, to promote a healthier diet, save animals and our planet.
- We only use free-range eggs, red tractor approved meat and fish from sustainable sources.
We’re proud to cater for children with dietary requirements including allergies, intolerances and cultural or lifestyle preferences. We’ll do our best to work closely with you and provide the best food we can. Whilst we work hard to promote a nut-free environment we cannot guarantee the total absence of these in our nurseries.
