Nursery Apprenticeships
A nursery, early years, or childcare apprenticeship is a paid job which offers hands-on work experience alongside off-the-job training.
During a childcare apprenticeship, the apprentice will learn valuable on-the-job experience while gaining technical knowledge and skills they will use throughout their career. These skills can include professionally caring for children while keeping them happy and safe throughout their early development. Apprentices are employed for the period it takes to complete the apprenticeship successfully, including multiple assessments and an endpoint assessment.
What does an Early Years Apprenticeship involve?
When you become an Early Years Apprentice with Cherubs Nurseries, you will take on multiple duties and responsibilities, such as:
- Planning and organising activities
- Supervising and observing children from ages 0 to 5 years old
- Supporting children to develop their independence and social skills
- Motivating the children and encouraging them to explore
- Shaping children’s learning experience
- Teaching children to develop positive relationships with other children and adults
- Helping children to understand basic hygiene
- Meeting care needs of children, e.g. changing nappies, feeding and interactions
- Making sure the environment is clean and tidy
Throughout your time at Cherubs, you will be assigned a Qualified Early Years Educator as a mentor to shadow and train you across all aspects of childcare services.
