Throughout 2018, with the support of our parents, children and colleagues, Cherubs Nurseries has been fundraising for three local hospitals – Nottingham City, King’s Mill (Mansfield) and Bassetlaw (Worksop). This year £6,100 was raised, in total, and the money put towards purchasing donations for all three Hospitals. Over the past week our nursery teams have been out to the Children’s Wards at all three of our partner hospitals, presenting the Christmas gifts.
With the money raised for King’s Mill Hospital (Mansfield) we were able to purchase equipment to further enhance their outdoor area (pictured above). This included Giant Connect Four, Dominos and Jenga alongside Little Tikes Rocking Horses, Scooters, Giant Skipping Ropes and lots of other outdoor equipment to positively impact the children’s experience whilst in Hospital.
At Bassetlaw Hospital (Worksop) all money raised was put towards purchasing items off the Children’s Wards Wishlist. Due to the fantastic donations we received we were able to purchase their entire wish list which included 3 Samsung Galaxy Tablets and cases, to be used for distraction whilst children are experiencing their procedures and operations and DVDs including Sing, Moana and Coco, to enhance the children’s time whilst at the Hospital. We were also fortunate to purchase Early Learning Centre toys and games for even the smallest patients.
Lastly, at Nottingham City Hospitals we were able to purchase a printer and a year’s supply of paper and ink so that families are able to instantly print high-quality photographs of their children. With the additional money we will be presenting the Hospital with a cheque to put towards complementary therapy for parents who experience a stressful and often long stay in the Hospital and training equipment for the resuscitation of babies.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our parents and families who have supported our community life events this year. Not forgetting that we have recently announced our 2018 charity partner too, Theodora Children’s Charity. You can read more about this exciting up-coming partnership here.
