Every year Nursery World, an industry publication and magazine, hosts Awards to recognise the “best of the best” in the childcare and early years sector. We are proud to share that this year we won the Community Support category. The community support category is “open to early years settings and services who have involved staff, parents and children in projects to support charities and/or the local community.”
At Cherubs Nurseries, making the communities we serve better places to live, work and grow up in is central to our approach and success. Our nurseries work hard to be integral parts of their local communities including fundraising events, visiting residential homes, hosting regular community clean ups and sharing their spaces with local charities and community groups. Every year, we host a donations drive for local Mind charity shops and when it comes to Christmas our nurseries support nearby Food Banks with essential donations. Many of these events are generously supported by our parent community, which we must thank and dedicate this award to – along with our incredibly staff team.
Nursery World selected us as the winner because “Community support has been developed and carefully integrated in Cherubs Nurseries practice. All nurseries take part in regular events planned by their community life champion.
There are weekly visits to residential homes and regular community clean ups. Throughout the year, nurseries fundraise for various charities including this year’s charity partner, Nottinghamshire Women’s Aid. Nurseries also collect food and supplies for local food banks and soup kitchens every Christmas.”
Commenting on the win, Susan Mills (Founder and CEO) said “Being shortlisted yet alone winning a category at an industry awards is such an honour and testament to the continued hard work of our staff. Community support is something we champion at Cherubs Nurseries, which is underpinned by our Community Life initiative. We are so proud to serve local communities across the East Midland and make them better places to live, work and grow up in.”
As a result of this ongoing commitment, many families and professionals regard Cherubs as one of the best nurseries in Nottingham – a reflection of our values, care, and dedication to community involvement.
