To ensure we continually offer the best childcare service to our customers it is vital that we invest in the recruitment, training and development of our team. Back in 2018 we started thinking about how we could be even more involved in training and development and tailor this to our business, we thought there would be no better way to do this than to deliver our apprenticeships and training, in-house. Working in partnership with Linden Management (Training and Apprenticeship Specialists) we have trained up a fantastic team of Assessors and Trainers to deliver our apprenticeships, training courses and workshops.
We’re proud to now offer a small range of courses for our team members, including:
Paediatric First Aid
Level 2 Apprenticeship in Childcare
Level 3 Apprenticeship in Childcare
Additionally, we have already delivered a range of workshops to our existing team members including observations, planning, parent partnership, community involvement and child development – to further enhance their practice and knowledge. We are also exploring the possibility of offering mental health training and counselling groups, in partnership with Mind.
We have converted the first floor of one of our existing nurseries (Cherubs Vale View) to house our Training Academy which features a large conference-style training room (up to 24 delegates) alongside a smaller training room (up to 12 delegates) and a meeting room. The Academy also had it’s own foyer, kitchen and washrooms so that we are able to host a diverse range of courses, activities and meetings at the Academy.
Susan Mills, Managing Director, commented “Even more nurseries are bringing their training in-house, to ensure that the content and style of delivery suits the needs of the business. It’s so important that new entrants to the sector get the best possible introduction and training alongside continually developing our long-serving colleagues to ensure our childcare service is outstanding. The Academy is a great addition to our group and we are looking forward to being able to deliver even more courses, from the Academy, moving forward.”
